60 Words Fluency Program

 

Fluency is a challenge for many struggling readers. The 60 Word Stories Fluency Program was developed to help build fluency at text-level after word-level reading is established.

Centred around the evidence-based practice of repeated reading, each digital pack includes 6-8 stories. Record daily readings on the timesheet, then track fluency progress on the age-specific fluency charts provided. 

Each story includes exactly 60 words, for easy scoring, and stories link like a chapter book, encouraging the child to read on the next day. Users are authorised to use stories with an unlimited number of students.    

The collection follows the scope and sequence of the Read3 program, but supports beginner readers using any systematic synthetic phonics program. To help reduce the cognitive load on children with processing weaknesses, stories in Module 1 and Module 2 do not contain any consonant blends or unexpected 'sight words'.
