Transitioning to the Read3 program

Welcome to Read3! 👋

If you are starting Read3 at a step other than
Module 1 Step 1, watch this first!

 1. The Read3 routine

Each session your child will be completing three activities to help build foundational literacy skills.

They will also complete a simple monitoring task called Chunk Check, and practise what they have been learning using decodable readers.

The routine can be completed in one sitting or you can split your activities up across the day. Practice Chunk Check as many times as you can - you can never do enough Chunk Check!

 2. Confirm current skill level

Complete the STIKI Quiz from previous step
(located at the top of the current step)

If your child doesn't meet the benchmarks outlined,
start Read3 at the previous step.

    3. Prepare for Chunk Check Daily Monitoring

Each day you will monitor your child's progress with Chunk Check. This involves checking 'NEW Chunks' introduced in the current program step, and reviewing 10 x 'OLD Chunks' from previous steps.

As this is your first step, you'll need to prepare some 'OLD Chunks'
